I’m a python developer working on information retrieval and data mining. I’m located in Montevideo, Uruguay. Also, I’m an opensource evangelist and a Linux user since 1999.
At the moment, I’m studying Computer Science at Facultad de Ingenieria, Universidad de la República. It’s hard to say when I’ll finish it, but I’ll try to do it before 2012. I’ve worked in Microsoft technologies for almost 4 years including .NET, SQL Server, ASP.NET, Sharepoint, Visual Basic 6 and some others. Yes, I know, what about the “open source evangelist”, well, it was my first job and I needed. Anyway, I’d a lot of fun in it, despite the technologies!
From late 90′s, I started looking for most interesting computers topics, I mean, funnier things! We have no google at the time, so I typed in Altavista “hacker”. Yeah, I know, you will say, “Woww, this guy is so original”! Well, It was a teenager that I’d watched Hackers a few days ago! That was the start of everything, thanks to that search, I’ve found a lot of information about Unix, Linux, Perl, C, … and a large list of great resources.
Actually, I’m working in Linux using great technologies and with a bunch of geeks since August 2008. I have a lot of fun every day, and the best of all is that the company I work for, use and create opensource.
